UNITED PATRIOTIC BODIES MEETING DECEMBER 27, 2004

United Patriotic Bodies Minutes 6:30 27 December 2004 American Legion Moorhead

Members present: Terry Richardson, Commander, Joe Baker and Sanford Steen Moorhead Legion, John Lopez, Commander Mhd VFW. Wayne Ellefson, Commander AMVETS Fargo, Wayne Wermanger Commander American Legion, Fargo, Wally Buckingham, Marine Corp League

Started with Pledge at 6:30, review agenda, no additions, Read minutes of last meeting as posted on www.TriStateVeterans.com site and approved.

Treasures Report: No Report, we still need to reimburse for Fargo Theater. Old business: Memorial Day, Discussed adding Holy Cross new cemetery, and the flag in the church. We need to get commitments to putting flags out on graves from Fargo VFW. Moorhead stated that the have 9 ceremonies starting at 6:30 that day and 11 AM ceremony at the Armory. Veterans Memorial Bridge name was discussed and we reviewed the resolution submitted by Moorhead. Discussion about the flags at the bridge and was decided to leave flags the same (Fargo VFW, AMVETS, Marine Corp League, Mhd Legion and VFW). The vote was to leave the same 10 votes, to change was 6 votes (Fargo Legion, VVA and DAV).

Names of Color Guard Commanders or Leaders: Moorhead Legion said the call theirs Sgt at Arms and gave contact name of Scott Moen, Christopherson for Moorhead VFW.

Roabalo they have met and are thinking of late spring or early summer. Wally Buckingham will do some checking about a speaker.

New Business Mayors Veterans Committee members: The committee decided that the Mayors Veterans Committee will be made up 9 voting members, 4 from Moorhead and 5 from Fargo. Clubs should also choose alternates for the meetings. Moorhead Legion submitted Sanford Steen and Joe Baker. We will need to go to our Posts to get the other names and alternates.

Next meeting, time and place: Moorhead VFW March 28th at 6:30. Lopez will schedule meeting room. He says the do serve dinners before for those interested.
